Sarah on the BBC news

In 2006 Sarah Burns appeared on BBC Breakfast news in a piece on the changes in NHS funding for orthodontic treatment. The British Orthodontic Society estimated that with the 2006 dental contract 20% fewer children would be fitted with braces that year.

Interviewees discussed whether orthodontic treatment should be free for all on the NHS. The BBC had a huge response from their audience, many of whom were unhappy about the changes.

“The change in system was brought about to improve access for the general public to NHS dentistry, as far as I am concerned it has not done that.”
